Data Validation is the process whereby data is proven or disproved to be accurate and actionable.  It doesn't matter whether your data is B2B, B2C, or a combination of both; there are time-tested validation techniques that ensure the accuracy and viability of your records.  

Even if you are confident that your data is accurate at the point of collection; over time many elements of a contact record will change.  The standard rate of data degradation is quoted at 2% per month for the average database.  There are a multitude of reasons why and how data degrades;  however, the one "constant" is that your data WILL degrade over time regardless of how careful you were in its collection or compilation.
